We develop personalised General Practitioner Management Plans (GPMPs) and, where appropriate, Team Care Arrangements (TCAs) to coordinate care with allied health professionals. Eligible patients may access Medicare rebates for services such as physiotherapy, dietetics, podiatry, and more.

• Diabetes Care
We offer comprehensive support for patients with Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. Our team provides regular monitoring, lifestyle and dietary advice, medication management, and referrals to diabetes educators and dietitians where needed.

• Condition-Specific Management

At Franklin General Practice, our clinic is fully equipped to perform a range of minor surgical procedures in a safe, sterile environment. All instruments used are sterile and single-use to ensure the highest standard of infection control.

Our doctors are experienced in performing the following procedures:
Removal of skin lesions – including moles, cysts, and other benign or suspicious growths
Laceration repairs – including suturing of minor cuts and wounds
Suture and staple removal – post-operative care following hospital procedures
Wedge resection of ingrown toenails – to relieve pain and prevent recurrence
Iron infusions – for the treatment of iron deficiency when oral supplements are not suitable

• Implanon insertion and removal

Stay Protected While You Travel

At Franklin General Practice, our experienced doctors and practice nurses provide comprehensive travel medicine services to help keep you healthy while abroad. We offer tailored health advice based on your destination, itinerary, and individual medical history.

Our travel health services include:

Pre-travel health consultations – personalised advice and risk assessment based on your travel plans
Vaccination planning and administration – including hepatitis A and B, typhoid, cholera, tetanus, and other recommended vaccines
Malaria prevention – advice and prescriptions for antimalarial medications when indicated
Travel health documentation – including certificates and proof of vaccination as required for entry into specific countries

Most commonly required travel vaccines are kept in stock at the practice. In some cases, you may need a prescription to obtain certain vaccines from a local pharmacy. Please note that additional fees apply for travel consultations and vaccinations.

We recommend booking your travel health appointment at least 4–6 weeks prior to departure to allow time for full immunisation and maximum protection.

Comprehensive Skin Care and Lesion Management

At Franklin General Practice, we offer thorough skin assessments and expert management of a wide range of skin conditions. Our doctors are experienced in detecting and treating skin concerns, including early signs of skin cancer.

Full skin checks – comprehensive examination of the skin to identify suspicious moles, lesions, or early signs of skin cancer
Skin lesion removal – including biopsy, excision, or shave procedures when clinically indicated
Cryotherapy – treatment using liquid nitrogen for common skin conditions such as warts, skin tags, and solar keratosis
Management of chronic skin conditions – including eczema, psoriasis, acne, and dermatitis

If required, referrals can be provided to dermatologists or other specialists for further assessment or advanced management.

At Franklin General Practice, we provide a wide range of immunisation services for children, adolescents, adults, and older patients. Our doctors and practice nurses are trained to deliver vaccinations safely and in accordance with the National Immunisation Program (NIP).

Annual influenza (flu) vaccinations – available for all patients, with government-funded options for eligible groups

Travel vaccinations – including hepatitis A and B, typhoid, yellow fever (with certification), and more
Occupational vaccinations – for patients requiring immunisation for work or clinical placements
COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters – available in line with current government recommendations
